Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Lexus RX 300 and 2002 Lexus RX 300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: If not using the hand-held tester, start the inspection from step  2.
  1. Check the door lock motor using the hand-held tester. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3. See Figure. Check that the door lock motor can operate in an ACTIVE TEST. If the results are OK, check the appropriate door ECU (driver or passenger). If the results are not good, go to the next step.
  2. Check the appropriate door lock motor. See DOOR LOCK MOTOR (DRIVER)  or DOOR LOCK MOTOR (PASSENGER)  under COMPONENT TESTS. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, replace the door lock motor. See DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (FRONT)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Check the wire harness and connector between the door lock motor and appropriate door ECU (driver or passenger). If the results are OK, check the appropriate door ECU (driver or passenger). If the results are not good, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.
