Inspection Procedure

- Check the door key lock and unlock switch using the DTC check. See DTC B1222/22: DOOR LOCK SWITCH CIRCUIT (DRIVER) or DTC B1224/24: DOOR LOCK SWITCH CIRCUIT (PASSENGER) under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS under MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM article under COMMUNICATION DEVICES in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. If the results are OK, check the appropriate door ECU (driver or passenger). If the results are not good, go to the next step.
- Check the door key lock and unlock switch. See DOOR KEY LOCK & UNLOCK SWITCH (DRIVER) or DOOR KEY LOCK & UNLOCK SWITCH (PASSENGER) under COMPONENT TESTS. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, replace the door key lock and unlock switch. See DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (FRONT) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Check the wire harness and connector between the door key lock and unlock switch and appropriate door ECU (driver or passenger). If the results are OK, check the appropriate door ECU (driver or passenger). If the results are not good, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.
