Diagnostic Procedure

NOTE:
If not using the hand-held tester, begin with step 2.
- Check the moon roof control switch operation. See step 1 of MOON ROOF CONTROL SWITCH CIRCUIT Diagnostic Procedure. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, check the moon roof controls witch circuit. See MOON ROOF CONTROL SWITCH CIRCUIT .
- Check the moon roof limit switch operation. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3. See Figure. Enter into ACTIVE TEST function of the hand-held tester. Check that Moon Roof operates as the hand-held tester directs. At this time, check that status (ON/OFF) of the limit switch No. 1 and No. 2 changes on the hand-held tester screen as shown in the illustration. See Fig 1. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, replace the moon roof gear assembly. See MOON ROOF under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Check the moon roof motor status. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3. Enter into ACTIVE TEST function of the hand-held tester. Check that Moon Roof operates as the hand-held tester directs. At this time, check that the motor status changes on the screen of the hand-held tester as the moon roof switch of the vehicle is turned. If the motor operates normally, go to the next step. If the results are not good, replace the moon roof gear assembly. See MOON ROOF under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Check the moon roof glass alignment (mechanical function). See GLASS ALIGNMENT under ADJUSTMENTS. If the results are OK, replace the moon roof gear assembly. See MOON ROOF under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If the results are not good, adjust the moon roof. See GLASS ALIGNMENT under ADJUSTMENTS.
CAUTION:
Caution is necessary not to be caught in as the jam protection system does not operate during conducting ACTIVE TEST.
