Front Seat: Reassembly

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Lexus RX 300 and 2002 Lexus RX 300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Connect the seat adjuster drive cable, then install the slide motor with the 2 screws.
  2. On driver seat, install the vertical seat link sub-assembly and rear vertical motor. See Figure. Install the rear vertical motor with the 2 screws. Install the plate and vertical seat link sub-assembly with the 5 nuts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table. Install the seat position control relay bolt. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table.
  3. On driver seat, install the No. 2 vertical seat link sub-assembly and front vertical motor. Install the front vertical motor with the 2 screws. Install the No. 2 vertical seat link sub-assembly with the 2 nuts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table. Install the 2 bolts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table.
  4. Install the reclining motor with the 2 screws. On driver seat, install the reclining seat adjuster assembly with No. 2 vertical seat link sub-assembly with the 4 bolts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table. On passenger seat, install the seat adjuster assembly with the 4 bolts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table.
  5. Install the anchor bracket with the 2 nuts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table. Install the 2 seat track covers.
  6. On driver seat, install the torsion bar using a screwdriver. See Figure.
  7. On driver seat install the seat position control relay with the 2 nuts.
  8. Connect the connectors, then install the wiring harness to the seat adjuster.
  9. Install the power seat switch with the 2 screws.
  10. Install the front seat inner belt with the bolt. See Figure. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table.
    11. NOTE: When installing hog rings, take care to prevent wrinkles.
  11. Install the seatback cover with the new hog rings to the seatback pad. On the driver seat, install the lumbar support assembly with the 2 bolts to the seatback frame. Install the seatback cover with pad to the seatback frame with the new hog rings. Install the armrest, wave washer and washer with the bolt, then install the cap. Install the headrest supports. Engage the seat cover hook and retainer, then install the 2 screws to the seatback frame. Install the new hog rings.
    12. CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the wiring harness.
    NOTE: When installing hog rings, take care to prevent wrinkles.
  12. Mount the seatback assembly on the seat adjuster assembly. Connect the lumbar support assembly connector. Install the wiring harness to the seat cushion inside covers. See Figure. Install the seat cushion inside covers with the 6 screws. Install the 4 seatback assembly set bolts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table. Engage the wiring harness clamps. Install the new hog rings. Install the seatback board. See Figure.
    13. NOTE: When installing hog rings, take care to prevent wrinkles.
  13. Install the seat cushion cover with new hog rings to the seat cushion pad. Install the seat cushion cover with pad to the seat cushion frame. Engage the seat cushion cover hook. Install new hog rings.
  14. Install the seat cushion assembly with the 4 bolts to the seat adjuster. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table. Instal the wiring harness to the seat cushion. See Fig 1.
  15. Install the No. 1 front seat cushion shield with 2 screws.
  16. Install the front seat inner cushion cover with the 3 screws.
  17. Install the front seat cushion shield. Connect the connector, then install the front seat cushion shield with the 4 screws. Install the power seat switch knobs.
  18. Install the headrest.
