Removal & Installation

  1. Using a flat-tip screwdriver with tape applied to tip, remove internal luggage compartment release handle bezel. See Fig 1. Using a clip remover, remove 15 clips from luggage compartment door cover and remove cover from luggage compartment door.
  2. Disconnect electrical harness connectors and wiring harness clamps. Remove 4 luggage compartment door hinge arm bolts and remove luggage compartment door.
  3. Disconnect both control links from luggage compartment door lock assembly. Disconnect electrical harness connector from lock assembly. Remove 2 bolts and lock assembly. Separate cover from lock assembly. Separate door lock motor from lock assembly by removing bolt.
  4. To install luggage compartment door lock assembly, reverse removal procedures. During reassembly, apply multipurpose grease to all sliding and rotating parts of luggage compartment door lock assembly. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
