Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Toyota Avalon. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
DO NOT disconnect vehicle battery to clear codes.
NOTE:
Information for clearing DTCs using a scan tool are not available from manufacturer. Refer to scan tool manufacturer's operator's manual.
- To clear DTCs from cruise control ECU memory, drive vehicle at about 9 MPH or less. Locate Gray round 17-pin Data Link Connector No. 2 (DLC2) under left side of instrument panel, to right of driver side junction block. Connect a jumper wire between terminals E1 and Tc at DLC No. 2. See Figure.
- Hold cruise control switch in CANCEL position and depress cruise control ON/OFF switch to ON position 5 times within 3 seconds. DTCs are now erased from cruise control ECU memory. If problem has not been corrected or fault is still present, code will reset in cruise control ECU memory.
