Roof Headlining Assembly: Removal

  1. Remove the RH and LH front seat assemblies. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in POWER SEATS article under SEATS in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
  2. Remove the rear seat cushion assembly and the rear seat back assembly. See REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY .
  3. Remove the upper rear console panel, the lower instrument panel sub-assembly, the RH instrument panel finish panel end, the RR console box and the LH and RH instrument panel finish panel end. See INSTRUMENT PANELS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
  4. Remove the rear air ducts No. 1 and 2, and remove the console box duct No. 1. See appropriate AUTOMATIC A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS article in HVAC.
  5. Remove the floor shift assembly. See SHIFT INTERLOCK SYSTEMS article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS.
  6. Using a screwdriver, remove the RH and LH front door scuff plates. See Fig 1.
  7. Using a screwdriver, remove the RH and LH rear door scuff plates. See Fig 2.
  8. Remove the RH and LH front door opening trim weatherstrip.
  9. Remove the RH and LH rear door opening trim weatherstrip.
  10. Remove the RH and LH lower center pillar garnishes by pulling them upward. See Fig 3.
  11. Remove the RH and LH center pillar garnishes. Using a screwdriver, remove the lap belt outer anchor cover. See Fig 4. Remove the bolt and front seat outer belt flower anchor. Remove the 2 screws. See Fig 5. Using a screwdriver, remove the center pillar upper garnish.
  12. Remove the RH and LH inner roof side garnish. Push the pin portion of the inner roof side garnish, then pull and release the clip. See Fig 6. Using a screwdriver, remove the inner roof side garnish.
  13. Remove the RH and LH front pillar garnish. Push the pin portion of the front pillar garnish, then pull and release the clip. See Fig 7. Using a screwdriver, remove the front pillar garnish. Protect the curtain shield air bag. See Fig 8. Cover the curtain shield air bag with the protection cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed. Cover the air bag with cloth or nylon of 700 mm x 120 mm and fix the ends of the cover with tape.
  14. Remove the assist grip sub-assembly. Using a screwdriver, remove the assist grip cover. See Fig 9. Remove the 2 screws and assist grip.
  15. Remove the RH and LH visor assembly. Use a molding remover, remove the visor bracket cover. See Fig 10. Remove the 2 screws and the visor.
  16. Remove the roof console box assembly. Remove the 2 screws. See Fig 11. Using a screwdriver, remove the roof console box then disconnect the connector.
  17. Remove the room lamp assembly No. 1. Using a screwdriver, remove the lens. Using a screwdriver, remove the room lamp assembly No. 1 then disconnect the connector. See Fig 12.
  18. Remove the RH and LH visor holder by turning it to the left.
  19. Using a molding remover, remove the vanity lamp assembly then disconnect the connector. See Fig 13.
  20. Remove the roof headlining assembly. Remove the inner rear view mirror cover. Tear off the tape on the adhered part of the wire harness. See Fig 14. Remove the headlining assembly from the passenger's door.
