Removal & Installation (Tacoma & Tundra 3.4L)

  1. Camshaft position sensor is located behind upper timing belt cover, near passenger's side camshaft sprocket. See Fig 1.
  2. Drain cooling system.
  3. Remove upper radiator hose.
  4. Remove necessary components for removal of upper timing belt cover. Remove bolts, upper timing belt cover and gasket.
  5. Disconnect electrical connector at camshaft position sensor. Remove bolt and camshaft position sensor.
  6. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Fill cooling system.
