Removal & Installation (4Runner 4.0L)

- Drain cooling system.
- Remove "V" bank cover.
- Disconnect ventilation hose and remove air cleaner assembly.
- Disconnect passenger side electrical connector at camshaft position sensor. Remove bolt and camshaft position sensor. See Fig 1.
- Disconnect water by-pass hoses from underneath throttle body. See Fig 2.
- Disconnect driver side electrical connector at camshaft position sensor. Remove bolt and camshaft position sensor. See Fig 3.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolt/nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Fill cooling system.
