Removal (4Runner 4.0L)

  1. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .
  2. Remove "V" bank cover.
  3. Remove air cleaner assembly with air cleaner hose located between air cleaner and throttle body.
  4. Disconnect necessary water by-pass hose from throttle body.
  5. Disconnect fuel vapor feed hose from air intake chamber. See Figure.
  6. Disconnect necessary electrical connectors and ventilation hose from air intake chamber.
  7. Remove 3 bolts and 2 air intake chamber stays and throttle body bracket.
  8. Remove bolts/nuts and air intake chamber with gasket.
  9. Remove passenger side fuel pipe clamp. Pinch fuel pump connector then pull out fuel pipe. See Fig 1.
  10. Remove 2 bolts and fuel pressure regulator and vacuum hose. See Fig 2.
