Removal (4Runner 4.0L)

- Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .
- Remove "V" bank cover.
- Remove air cleaner assembly with air cleaner hose located between air cleaner and throttle body.
- Disconnect necessary water by-pass hose from throttle body.
- Disconnect fuel vapor feed hose from air intake chamber. See Figure.
- Disconnect necessary electrical connectors and ventilation hose from air intake chamber.
- Remove 3 bolts and 2 air intake chamber stays and throttle body bracket.
- Remove bolts/nuts and air intake chamber with gasket.
- Remove passenger side fuel pipe clamp. Pinch fuel pump connector then pull out fuel pipe. See Fig 1.
- Remove 2 bolts and fuel pressure regulator and vacuum hose. See Fig 2.
