Removal & Installation (Tacoma)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 11 other vehicles, including the 2003 Toyota Tacoma, 2003 Toyota RAV4, 2003 Toyota Prius, 2003 Toyota Matrix, and 2003 Toyota MR2. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Drain cooling system.
  2. Remove air cleaner hose and intake air connector. See Figure.
  3. Disconnect control cable(s), PCV hose, air hose, vacuum hoses and electrical connectors at throttle body.
  4. Remove bolts/nuts, throttle body and gasket from intake manifold.
  5. Disconnect remaining coolant hoses from bottom of throttle body. Remove throttle body.
  6. Remove screws, Idle Air Control (IAC) valve and gasket from bottom of throttle body (if necessary).
  7. To install, reverse removal procedure using NEW gasket. Tighten throttle body bolts/nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  8. Fill cooling system.
