Removal & Installation (RAV4)
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 11 other vehicles, including the 2003 Toyota Tacoma, 2003 Toyota RAV4, 2003 Toyota Prius, 2003 Toyota Matrix, and 2003 Toyota MR2. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Fuel pressure regulator is located on fuel pump assembly in the fuel tank. See Figure. Remove fuel pump from fuel tank. See FUEL PUMP .
- Disconnect lead wire from bottom of No. 1 fuel suction support.
- Using screwdriver, release snap fit areas on No. 1 fuel suction support and remove No. 1 fuel suction support from main fuel filter. See Figure. Use care not to damage No. 1 fuel suction support and main fuel filter.
- Disconnect electrical connector for fuel pump from bottom of No. 1 fuel suction support.
- Disconnect tube on fuel pressure regulator from clamp.
- Remove fuel pressure regulator with "O" ring from top of main fuel filter. See Figure. Remove "O" ring from fuel pressure regulator.
- To install, reverse removal procedure using NEW "O" ring on fuel pressure regulator. Coat "O" ring with gasoline before installing fuel pressure regulator. Reinstall fuel pump.
