Throttle Position Sensor: Notes
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 11 other vehicles, including the 2003 Toyota Tacoma, 2003 Toyota RAV4, 2003 Toyota Prius, 2003 Toyota Matrix, and 2003 Toyota MR2. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
On MR2, there are 2 types of throttle bodies and TP sensors used depending on type of transaxle used. On models with a standard type manual transaxle, the driver operates the clutch and shifts the transaxle. On models with sequential manual transaxle, the transaxle is electronically controlled and the clutch is operated and transaxle is shifted hydraulically by moving the shift lever forward or backward. Sequential manual transaxle may be identified by shift lever pattern which consists of "R", "N", "S" and "+" in place of the conventional type shift lever pattern and no clutch pedal is used.
