Removal (RAV4)

- Knock sensor is located on side of cylinder block. See Figure. Manufacturer states to remove engine and transaxle for access to knock sensor. See appropriate article in ENGINES.
- Disconnect necessary hoses, electrical connectors and engine wiring harness for removal of intake manifold with throttle body.
- Remove bolts/nuts, intake manifold with throttle body, gasket and intake manifold insulator. Using Oil Pressure Switch Socket (SST 09817-16011), or equivalent socket, remove knock sensor from cylinder block.
