Removal & Installation (Tacoma)

- Remove starter and fuel filter mounting bolts to access knock sensor. Knock sensor is located on side of cylinder block. See Fig 1.
- Disconnect electrical connector at knock sensor. Using Oil Pressure Switch Socket (SST 09817-16011) or equivalent socket, remove knock sensor from cylinder block.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten knock sensor, fuel filter mounting bolts and starter bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
