Removal (Prius)

- Canister Closed Valve Vacuum Switching Valve (CCV VSV) is located on top of fuel tank. See Figure. Fuel tank must be removed for access to CCV VSV.
- Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .
- Remove rear seat cushion and cover plate on floor panel for access to fuel pump if not previously done.
- Disconnect electrical connector from top of fuel pump. This is electrical connector for fuel pump and fuel gauge sending unit. Electric fuel pump is located in the fuel tank.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove exhaust pipe assembly and tailpipe for access to fuel tank.
- Drain gasoline from fuel tank into approved container.
- Disconnect fuel filler tube and any remaining hoses for fuel tank removal.
- Support fuel tank with transmission jack. Remove fuel tank retaining bolts and fuel tank.
- Disconnect necessary hoses and electrical connectors for removal of CCV VSV and fresh air valve.
- Remove bolt and separate fresh air valve from CCV VSV. See Figure.
- Remove bolts for CCV VSV and remove CCV VSV along with trap filter and seal packing.
- Remove bolts and separate CCV VSV from trap filter.
