Diagnosis & Repair

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Toyota Camry Solara. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Read freeze frame data using hand-held tester or OBD II scan tool, as freeze frame data records the engine conditions when a malfunction is detected. When trouble shooting, it is useful for determining whether the vehicle was running or stopped, the engine was warmed up or not, the air-fuel ratio was lean or rich, etc. at the time of the malfunction.

For wiring diagram, see DTC P2102: THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL MOTOR CIRCUIT LOW & DTC P2103: THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL MOTOR CIRCUIT HIGH .

Check if there are any codes (besides DTC P2119) being output. If other codes are output, diagnose and repair those codes first. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS . If other codes are not output, replace the ECM and clear the DTC. For ECM location, see ENGINE CONTROL MODULE LOCATION  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. To clear DTC, see CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If DTC P2119 is memorized again, replace the throttle body. See REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION - 4-CYLINDER article.
