- Crankshaft position sensor is located at front of crankshaft, near crankshaft pulley. See Fig 1.
- Manufacturer lists inspection procedure with crankshaft position sensor removed before checking resistance. See CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR under IGNITION SYSTEMS in REMOVAL & INSTALLATION - V6 & V8 article.
- Using ohmmeter, check resistance between electrical terminals on crankshaft position sensor. See CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR RESISTANCE table. Replace crankshaft position sensor if resistance is not within specification.
- Reinstall crankshaft position sensor. See CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR under IGNITION SYSTEMS in REMOVAL & INSTALLATION - V6 & V8 article. Tighten crankshaft position sensor bolt to 71 INCH lbs. (8.0 N.m).
