The evaporative emission control system, which is based on the LEV-II regulation requirements adopted on the 2003 4Runner, also includes the items to comply with the stricter standards prescribed by the PZEV (Partial Zero Emission Vehicle) regulations. The basic system control logic is the same as the system that complies with the LEV-II regulations. For system comparison, see Fig 1.
