Inspection Procedure

NOTE:

Start the inspection from step  1 in case of using the hand-held tester and start from step  2 in case of not using the hand-held tester.

  1. Check operation of the VSC buzzer  .
    1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on the hand-held tester.

    Check "ON-OFF" function of the VSC buzzer with the hand-held tester.

    1. OK: Go to step   5  .
    2. NG: Go to next step  .

  2. Check that the VSC buzzer connector is securely connected to the buzzer  .
    1. OK: Go to next step  .
    2. NG: Connect the connector to the buzzer  .
  3. Check voltage between terminal 1 of VSC buzzer and body ground  .

    Remove the VSC buzzer with connectors still connected.

    1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    2. Measure voltage between terminal (1) of VSC buzzer and body ground.

    OK: Voltage: 10 - 14 V  .

    1. OK: Go to next step  .
    2. NG: Repair or replace harness or connector from voltage supply to VSC buzzer  .

  4. Check VSC buzzer  .

    Disconnect the VSC buzzer connector.

    Apply battery positive voltage to the terminals 1 and 2 of VSC buzzer connector, and check that the VSC buzzer sounds.

    1. OK: Go to next step  .
    2. NG: Replace VSC buzzer  .
  5. Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between Skid Control ECU and VSC buzzer. See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  .
    1. OK: Check and replace Skid Control ECU  .
    2. NG: Repair or replace harness or connector  .
