Inspection Procedure
NOTE:
Start the inspection from step 1 in case of using the hand-held tester and start from step 3 in case of not using the hand-held tester.
- Check output value of the steering angle sensor
.
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch ON and push the hand-held tester main switch ON.
- Select the DATALIST mode on the hand-held tester.
Check that the steering wheel turning angle value of the steering angle sensor displayed on the hand-held tester is appropriate when turning the steering wheel.
OK: Steering wheel turning angle value must be appropriate .
- OK: Go to step 5 .
- NG: Go to next step .
- Check the steering angle sensor zero point
.
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch ON and push the hand-held tester main switch ON.
- Select the DATALIST mode on the hand-held tester.
Check whether steering angle sensor value is nearly equal to 0 degree when steering wheel is adjusted to neutral.
- OK: Go to next step .
- NG: Calibrate the steering angle sensor zero point. See step 3 under PRE-CHECK .
- Check the installation condition of steering angle sensor
.
- OK: Go to next step .
