Inspection Procedure

NOTE:

Start the inspection from step  1 in case of using the hand-held tester and start from step  3 in case of not using the hand-held tester.

  1. Check output value of the deceleration sensor  .
    1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the DATALIST mode on the hand-held tester.

    Check that the deceleration value of the deceleration sensor displayed on the hand-held tester is changing when tilting the vehicle.

    OK: Deceleration value must be changing  .

    1. OK: Check and replace Skid Control ECU  .
    2. NG: Go to next step  .

  2. Check the steering angle sensor zero point  .
    1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the DATALIST mode on the hand-held tester.

    Check whether steering angle sensor value is nearly equal to 0 degrees when steering wheel is adjusted to neutral.

    1. OK: Go to next step  .
    2. NG: Calibrate the steering angle sensor zero point. See step   3  under PRE-CHECK  .

  3. Check deceleration sensor. See step   4  under PRE-CHECK  .
    1. OK: Go to next step  .
    2. NG: Replace deceleration sensor  .
  4. Check for open or short circuit in harness and connector between deceleration sensor and Skid Control ECU. See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  .
    1. OK: Check and replace Skid Control ECU  .
    2. NG: Repair or replace harness and connector  .
