Inspection Procedure

NOTE:

Troubleshoot in accordance with the chart below for each trouble symptoms.

  1. If ABS warning light does not light up, go to step  1.
  2. If ABS warning light remains on, see ALWAYS ON MALFUNCTION IN ECU VSC WARNING LIGHT CIRCUIT .
  1. Check operation of the ABS warning light  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect the connector from the Skid Control ECU.
    3. Turn the ignition switch ON.

    Check that the ABS warning light goes on.

    1. OK: Check and replace Skid Control ECU  .
    2. NG: Go to next step  .

  2. Check for short circuit in harness and connector between combination meter and Skid Control ECU. See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  .
    1. OK: Replace or repair bulb or combination meter  .
    2. NG: Repair or replace harness or connector  .
