Removal & Installation (Highlander)

  1. Remove air cleaner with hose. Remove front suspension brace sub assembly . Drain brake fluid from reservoir. Disconnect wire harness clamps from brace sub-assembly. Remove 4 nuts from brace sub-assembly.
  2. Disconnect brake fluid level warning switch connector. On models with Vehicle Skid Control disconnect actuator No. 1 hose from reservoir. Remove 2 brake lines. Remove 2 nuts and pull out check valve bracket and master cylinder sub-assembly.
  3. If master cylinder has been overhauled or replaced, check and adjust power brake unit push rod. See POWER BRAKE UNIT PUSH ROD  under ADJUSTMENTS. To install, reverse removal procedure. Bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
