Removal & Installation (Camry CNG & Gasoline Models, Camry Solara & RAV4)

  1. Remove throttle body from intake manifold for access to ignition coils. See THROTTLE BODY  under FUEL SYSTEMS.
  2. Disconnect electrical connectors and spark plug wires from ignition coils. Remove bolts from ignition coil mounting bracket. Remove ignition coils with ignition coil mounting bracket. Note location of ignition coil for installation reference. Remove ignition coil-to-mounting bracket bolts and separate ignition coil from mounting bracket.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure ignition coils are properly positioned on ignition coil mounting bracket. See Fig 1. Tighten ignition coil-to-mounting bracket bolts and ignition coil mounting bracket bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
