Drive Shaft: Reassembly

  1. Apply grease to the drive shaft spline and sleeve yoke sliding surface. Use Molybdenum disulfide lithium base chassis grease, NLGI No. 2.
  2. Install the dust cover to the shaft.
    3. NOTE: When replacing the drive shaft, install the new parts facing as shown in the illustration. See Fig 1 for 1996-2000 models or Fig 2 for 2001 models.
  3. Align the matchmarks on the yoke and drive shaft.
