Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABS actuator harness connectors. Using DVOM, check resistance between specified ABS actuator connectors and terminals. See ABS ACTUATOR SOLENOID INSPECTION  table. Replace ABS actuator if resistance is not as specified. If resistance is as specified, go to next step.
  2. Check for open or short circuit in wiring harness between ABS ECU and ABS actuator. Repair as necessary. If no problem is found, go to next step.
  3. Reconnect all harness connectors. Clear DTCs. See CLEARING DTCS  under SELF-DIAGNOSTICS. Test drive vehicle. If DTC 21, 22 or 23 set, check condition of all harness and component connections. If connections are okay, ABS ECU may be faulty.

Between Terminals Resistance (Ohms)
A5-4 & A4-1 5.0
A5-4 & A4-3 5.0
A5-4 & A4-4 5.0
A5-4 & A4-5 2.2
A5-4 & A4-7 2.2
A5-4 & A4-8 2.2
(1) A4 is 8-pin connector; A5 is 5-pin connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
