Circuit Description

ABS solenoid turns on when signals are received from ABS ECU and controls pressure acting on calipers/wheel cylinders, thus controlling braking force. If malfunction occurs in actuator solenoid circuit, ABS ECU cuts off current to ABS control (solenoid) relay and prohibits ABS control.

DTC 21 will set when any of the following conditions are present:

• Battery voltage detected at ABS ECU terminal No. 5.
• Battery voltage detected at ABS ECU terminal No. 11.
• With ABS ECU transistor on, battery voltage or zero volts is detected at ABS ECU terminals No. 8 or 16.

DTC 22 will set when any of the following conditions are present:

• Battery voltage detected at ABS ECU terminal No. 5.
• Battery voltage detected at ABS ECU terminal No. 11.
• With ABS ECU transistor on, battery voltage or zero volts is detected at ABS ECU terminals No. 1 or 2.

DTC 23 will set when any of the following conditions are present:

• Battery voltage detected at ABS ECU terminal No. 5.
• Battery voltage detected at ABS ECU terminal No. 11.
• With ABS ECU transistor on, battery voltage or zero volts is detected at ABS ECU terminals No. 9 or 10.
