Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between tachometer terminals on rear of instrument cluster. See Figure. See TACHOMETER RESISTANCE  table. If resistance is not as specified, replace tachometer.
