Diagnosis & Repair Procedure

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Access ECT ECU. See Figure. Disconnect applicable connector from ECU. Backprobing ECT ECU harness connector with ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminals NC2+ and NC2-. See Figure-Figure . If resistance is 560-680 ohms, replace ECT ECU and retest. If resistance is not within specification, go to next step.
  2. Remove direct clutch speed sensor located on top of transaxle. Measure resistance between sensor terminals. If resistance is not 560-680 ohms, replace sensor. To test performance of sensor, see DIRECT CLUTCH SPEED SENSOR  under COMPONENT TESTS. If resistance is within specification, inspect and repair circuits between sensor and ECT ECU.
