Removal (Tacoma A/T, T100 A/T & 4Runner A/T)

  1. The PNP switch is located on passenger's side of transmission. See Figure. Remove necessary components for access to PNP switch.
  2. Disconnect electrical connector at PNP switch. Disconnect shift linkage from control lever (if equipped) on transmission for access to PNP switch.
  3. If equipped with control lever, remove nut, washer and control lever from transmission. On all applications, bend tabs upward on lock plate, away from PNP switch retaining nut. Remove PNP switch retaining nut, lock plate, PNP switch retaining bolt and PNP switch.
