A belt tensioner is used, so checking the belt tension is not necessary. The drive belt tension can be released by turning the belt tensioner clockwise. Test the operation of the tensioner.

• Check that belt tensioner moves downward when the drive belt is pressed down with approximately 98 N (22 Ft. lbs) of force. See Figure and Figure .
• Check the alignment of the belt tensioner pulley ro make sure the drive belt will not slip off the pulley

If necessary, replace belt tensioner.
