Removal (Avalon)

  1. Close sun roof. Turn ignition off. Remove rear seat back and cushions. Remove front and rear door opening trim. See Figure. Remove front door and rear door scuff plates. Remove center pillar upper and lower trim. Remove sun visors, assist grips, and interior lights.
  2. Remove rear deck mounted brakelight. Remove rear deck tray trim. Remove rear pillar trim panels. Remove headliner. Remove sun roof side trim. See Figure. Remove sun roof mounting nuts. Pull upward on sun roof glass to remove. Remove front and rear sun roof trim panels. Remove sun roof control relay, and drive gear assembly.
  3. Disconnect 4 drain hoses from sun roof housing. Remove bolts, brackets, nuts and sun roof housing. Remove drip channel. Remove wind deflector. Remove cable guide casing. Remove drive rail.
