Oil Pump: Reassembly
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 1994 Toyota MR2, 1993 Toyota MR2, 1993 Toyota Celica, 1992 Toyota MR2, and 1992 Toyota Corolla. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Using Seal Installer (09351-32140), install a NEW oil seal. Seal is properly installed when it is flush with outer edge of pump body.
- Install driven gear and drive gear. Ensure identifying marks are facing upward. Install stator shaft on pump body. Align bolt holes. Install 11 stator shaft-to-oil pump body bolts. Tighten to 89 INCH lbs. (10 N.m).
- Coat thrust washer with petroleum jelly. Align tab of washer with hollow of pump body. Install thrust washer. Install 2 oil seal rings on oil pump. DO NOT spread ring ends more than required for installation. Ensure oil seal rings move freely.
- Turn drive gear with screwdriver to ensure smooth rotation. DO NOT damage oil seal lip. Install race on stator shaft.
