UNDERDRIVE Brake & Accumulator: Disassembly

  1. Using Spring Compressor (09351-32070), compress return spring and remove snap ring. Remove plates, discs and flange. Note number and location of components. Remove return spring. Remove oil seal rings (if necessary).
  2. Apply compressed air to oil passage in transaxle case to remove underdrive piston from transaxle case. See Figure. Remove "O" rings from piston. Remove oil gallery cover and gasket. Remove accumulator piston and spring from transaxle case. Remove "O" ring from piston. See Figure.
