Removal (Cressida)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL . Remove steering column covers.
  2. Remove instrument cluster lower finish panel from 4 retaining clips by prying panel outward with flat-blade screwdriver. See Figure. Disconnect switch connectors from rear of panel. Remove 3 screws retaining under cover panel to instrument panel lower finish panel. Remove hood release lever.
  3. On Canadian models, remove instrument panel lower finish panel by removing 4 retaining screws and prying panel from 2 retaining clips. See Figure. Disconnect speaker and electrical connectors from rear of panel.
  4. On USA models, pry speaker cover from instrument panel lower finish panel and remove retaining bolt. Remove 2 top retaining screws and 3 retaining bolts. See Figure. Pull panel from dash enough to disconnect speaker and electrical connectors from rear of panel.
  5. On all models, remove 4 bolts retaining center cluster/radio finish panel. Pry/pull panel loose from 2 retaining clips. Remove 2 bottom screws retaining satellite switches panel. See Figure. Disconnect connectors.
  6. Remove 5 screws retaining instrument cluster finish panel. Carefully pull panel from its retaining clip located above clock opening and disconnect wiring harness connectors.
  7. Remove 4 instrument cluster retaining screws. Pull instrument cluster out enough to disconnect speedometer cable wiring harness connectors. Remove cluster.
