Removal (Supra With Air Bag)

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least one minute before continuing. Ensure front wheels are in straight-ahead position. Remove steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL .
  2. Remove steering column covers. Remove hood release lever and retaining screw covers from instrument panel lower finish panel. Remove 4 bolts and 2 retaining screws to remove instrument panel lower finish panel and panel pad behind finish panel. See Figure.
  3. Disconnect connectors from rear of 4 switches, in switches panel to left of steering column. Pry/pull switches panel to remove from dash. Remove ashtray and 2 screws retaining ashtray bracket to center cluster finish panel.
  4. If M/T equipped, remove shift knob. Remove 3 screws, lift center cluster finish panel enough to disconnect connectors and then remove panel.
  5. Remove 7 screws from finish panel around instrument cluster and remove panel. Remove 4 instrument cluster retaining screws. Pull instrument cluster out far enough to disconnect harness connectors and speedometer cable (if equipped). Remove instrument cluster.
