Axle Beam: Installation

  1. To install, reverse removal procedure. DO NOT tighten axle beam-to-body bolts and strut assembly bolts until vehicle is at normal operating height and vehicle suspension has been bounced several times to stabilize the suspension.
  2. Tighten all fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS table at end of article. Fill and bleed brake system. Adjust wheel bearings. See WHEEL BEARING ADJUSTMENT under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTION.
