Wheel Bearing & Axle Carrier: Installation

1. Pack wheel bearing with grease. Using press and Drivers (SST 09316-60010 and 09608-32010), press wheel bearing into axle carrier. Install snap ring.
2. Install outer race. Using Oil Seal Installer (SST 09316-60010), install outer oil seal. Coat seal lip of outer oil seal with grease.
3. Install backing plate. Tighten retaining nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS table at end of article. Install inner race.
4. Using press and Driver (SST 09608-35014), press axle carrier onto axle hub. Using Oil Seal Installer (SST 09223-41020), install inner oil seal. Coat seal lip of inner oil seal with grease. Install dust deflector.
