Stabilizer Bar: Inspection
- Inspect stabilizer bar link. Move ball joint stud back and forth 5 times. If movement is not smooth and free, replace stabilizer bar link.
- Install nut on ball joint stud on stabilizer bar link. Use an INCH-lb. torque wrench to check ball joint turning torque required to rotate ball joint stud. Rotate ball joint stud nut one turn every 2-4 seconds and note ball joint turning torque on fifth revolution.
- Ball joint turning torque should be 2.6-10.4 INCH lbs. (.3-1.2 N.m). Replace stabilizer bar link if ball joint turning torque is not within specification.
