Removal & Installation (Cressida)
- Remove master cylinder. See MASTER CYLINDER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect vacuum hose from power brake unit. Disconnect push rod at brake pedal.
- Remove wiper motor. Remove alternator, PCV pipe and hose. Disconnect PCV hose from cylinder head cover. Remove Idle Speed Control (ISC) valve. Disconnect water by-pass hose from throttle body. Remove EGR pipe bolts. Remove cold start injector tube and gaskets. Clean up any spilled fuel. Remove manifold stay.
- Remove air intake chamber bolts, and move chamber forward. Remove power brake unit. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten nuts to specification. See appropriate TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS table at end of article. Check and adjust power brake unit push rod. See POWER BRAKE UNIT PUSH ROD under ADJUSTMENTS.
