ECT stands for Electronically Controlled Transmission (ECT). Only A/T-equipped vehicles were optionally built with this feature.
To determine if equipped with the ECT system, look around the dashboard area for a switch that allows the driver to put the transmission in "Power" or "Normal" mode. If the switch is present, it is an ECT system. Conversely, the absence of the switch means the system is not ECT-equipped.
