Cylinder Head Service

  1. Remove cylinder head and disassemble. See CYLINDER HEAD . Remove camshaft bearing caps in reverse order of tightening sequence. See Figure. Keep disassembled parts in order and mark parts for reassembly reference.
  2. Thoroughly clean cylinder head gasket mating surfaces. Check cylinder head for warpage. If not within specification, resurface or replace as necessary. See CYLINDER HEAD SPECIFICATIONS  table.
