Trouble Shooting Precautions
- When testing resistances and voltages, use a high-impedance type tester. Tester must have 10,000 ohms impedance or more. Testing is not possible with a standard (analog) meter.
- DO NOT make checks with battery voltage applied directly to components. To avoid damage from static electricity, do not touch circuit components. Never reverse battery connections.
- DO NOT disconnect battery while engine is running, as this would cause an instant reverse charge (100 volts), resulting in damage to internal components. Always disconnect battery terminals before pulling apart connectors or terminals.
