Fuel Gauge Operation Test

  1. Remove instrument cluster and disconnect electrical connectors. Connect positive 12 volts to terminal No. A-1. Attach negative lead to terminals No. A-9 and A-20. Connect jumper wire between terminals No. A-4 and A-10. All segments on fuel gauge should illuminate for 130 seconds, then go out. Disconnect fuel tank sending unit connector. All segments should illuminate and fuel level warning light should flash.
  2. If operation is not as described, replace wire harness or replace computer. If okay, and fuel gauge still does not work, replace fuel gauge. See Fig 1.
