Wiring Harness Operational Test

Unplug connector at fuel tank sending unit. Connect a 12-volt, 3.4-watt test light between appropriate terminals of harness connector. See FUEL SENDING UNIT HARNESS CONNECTOR table. See Fig 1.
Turn ignition on. Test light should flash and gauge needle should vibrate. If test light does not flash and needle does not move, check wiring harness for opens. Repair or replace as necessary.
