Coil Spring & Shock Absorber: Removal

Raise up the rear axle housing and support the frame with stands, and continue to hold the rear axle housing with a jack.
Remove the wheel.
Remove the bolt holding the shock absorber to the rear axle housing and disconnect the shock absorber. See Fig 1.
If replacing the shock absorber, remove the nut holding the shock absorber to the frame, and remove the shock absorber. See Fig 2.

Remove the bolts holding the stabilizer bar bracket to the rear axle housing. See Fig 3.

Remove the bolt holding the right-hand shock absorber to the rear axle housing and disconnect the shock absorber. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the shackle bracket from the lateral control rod. See Fig 4.

Remove the bolt and nut holding the lateral control rod to the frame and disconnect the lateral control rod. See Fig 5.

CAUTION: Be careful not to snag the brake line and parking brake cable.

Begin to lower the rear axle housing. While lowering the rear axle housing, remove the coil spring and upper insulators. See Fig 6.
