Coil Spring & Shock Absorber: Installation

  1. Put lower insulator on axle housing. See Fig 1.
  2. Put the upper insulator on the coil spring, and install the coil spring. See Fig 2.

  3. Raise up the axle housing.
  4. Check that the lower insulator is installed correctly.
  5. NOTE: Insert the bolt from the front of the vehicle (shock absorber side). Do NOT tighten the nut.
  6. Connect the lateral control rod to the frame with the bolt, plate washer and nut.
  7. Connect the shackle bracket to the lateral control rod with 2 bolts.
  8. Connect the shock absorber to the frame with the nut and tighten. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  9. Connect the shock absorber to the rear axle housing with the bolt and tighten. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  10. Install the stabilizer bracket to the rear axle shaft and tighten. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  11. Install the wheel and lower vehicle.
  12. Bounce the vehicle up and down to stabilize the suspension.
  13. Raise up the rear axle housing and support it with stands, and torque the lateral control nut. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
