Vacuum Pump: Inspection

Inspect end cover and casing for damage or wear. Measure blade with calipers. Minimum width of blade is .2343" (5.95 mm). Minimum height is .543" (13.79 mm) and minimum length is 1.57" (39.88 mm).
Place rotor on alternator shaft and check for excessive play in direction of rotor spline rotation. Make sure check valve flows from union side to pump side. Ensure check valve does not allow flow from pump side to union side. See Fig 1.
