Wheel Bearings

Adjust preload by tightening adjusting nut to 43 ft. lbs. (59 N.m). Install new lock washer and lock nut. Ensure there is no bearing side play. Recheck preload using spring tension gauge. attached to a wheel stud. Tension (rotating preload) should be 4.6-7.9 lbs. (21-35N). Secure lock nut by bending one lock washer tooth outward.
